Here’s a clip from a while back of my friend Chase and I jammin’ to some Sam Cooke. This is the first song I remember hearing that hit me like a freight train. Sam is the man 🙂

I’ve been vibing on this group for a while now and lately, it’s aching me. In the best way. The melancholic melodies and seamless harmonies get me every time, and it’s that soul that I hope to evoke in my own record this summer. Getting inspired for recording is taking a lot out of me emotionally and it’s wreaking havoc on my liver (lots of late nights listening and writing while delving into a bottle of wine), but it’s an amazing release. As long as I have tunes like this to get me through, I’ll be juuuuust fine.

For your listening pleasure, here’s Clairy Browne and the Bangin’ Rackettes singing “Far Too Late.”

“I am fiercely protective and believe in love so vehemently, I can tower over any threat to my precious ones but at the end of the day, I am always the little spoon.” -Clairy Browne

My two-track demo will be posted, released and shared very soon! One original and one Amy Winehouse cover- can you guess which one?

Both tunes were made possible by my good friend and incredible guitarist Arianna Powell. The girl knows her jazz!

Stay tuned 🙂

I caught one of my favorite bands, Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, last night at Mr. Small’s and I felt super inspired to create music that’s even half as soulful as this flock’s sound. Their new tune “Fight” screams emotion and with Arleigh’s powerful vocals, it’s hard to not experience the anguish in the song. If you don’t know these guys yet, watch the video and I promise you will want more.

I am starting work on my first EP with my good friend and guitarist Vince Cuneo who has jumped on as producer! We are in the beginning stages now and are getting busy with writing and arranging the tunes. The wheels are turning and the lyrics are flowing, along with the liquor! I mean, it’s the blues, after all.

A photo shoot is in the works and although I am used to being behind the camera, this is just one of those awkward, unfortunate parts of being a musician.

A two-track demo will be posted soon, which was made possible by the insanely talented Arianna Powell on guitar! So stay tuned for the latest news and updates!
